Extract from the History of Lakeshore Tabernacle of Kenosha, Wisconsin:
In 1961, the original missionaries felt that it was necessary for them to work independently. One of the members of the church knew a young man who lived in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, who had a burden for Mexico. He invited him to attend a service at Lakeshore Tabernacle. Reverend Jerome McSorley and his wife, Betty, came to church while Reverend Florence Wine, of Tieton, Washington, was holding services. She did not know the McSorleys and did not know that God had called them to Mexico. But God knew. She called them forth, laid her hands upon them, and spoke in prophecy that God had sent them to Kenosha, and that He wanted them to work with the Lakeshore Tabernacle in Mexico. After a short time in Kenosha to get acquainted with the church, the pastor, and the people, the McSorleys, with their six children, moved to Mexico.

Obituary from the "Leader-Telegram" of Eau Claire, Wisconsin dated 5 Apr 2005:
Zapata, Texas - Rev. Jerome Dean McSorley Sr. died April 2, 2005, at his home surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren.
Born March 9, 1929, in Eau Claire, Wis., he later moved to Texas, where he prepared for ministry at International Bible College in San Antonio. He ran the gamut, having drunk the dregs and sipped the nectar propagating the Gospel throughout Mexico, India and in Zapata, Texas. The next generation of "McSorleys" will fall back into the trenches to handle his old and their new enterprises and march on in amazement continuing Rev. McSorley's ministry endeavors.
A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, at Rose Garden Funeral Home. The funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 8, at Rose Garden Funeral Home with Pastor Loreto Matus officiating. Committal services will follow at Zapata County Cemetery.
Surviving is his wife, Betty McSorley; his daughters, Karen Giordano, Anita (Don) Ersch, Donna (Bryan) Self, Ruth (Roy) Villegas, Shirley (Ken) Myers and Connie (Gerardo) Rodriguez; son, Jerome Dean (Patricia) McSorley, Jr.; 29 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; as well as five brothers and five sisters.
