Harold W. Parry, 75, of Newberg died Monday, Oct. 4, 1993, in Newberg.
He was born Feb. 23, 1918, to George V. and Mary Etta (Livengood) Parry in Newberg.
He grew up and attended school in Newberg, then moved to White Salmon, Wash., where he worked in logging. During World War II he was in the Merchant Marines for four years.
He was married to Marian D. Carroll on June 13, 1944, in Washougal, Wash.
They moved to Newberg in 1946, and he logged with his brother-in-law for 15 years. He worked as a machinist for Allen Fruit Company from 1961 until he retired in 1989.
He enjoyed lapidary (working with rocks and minerals), woodworking, reading and golfing.
Survivors include his wife, Marian; sons H. Vern Parry of Portland and James Alan Parry of Newberg; daughters Susan D. Parrish of Newberg and Carolyn Spaulding of Portland; sisters Audrey Smith of Myrtle Point, Mabel Schaad of Kerman, Calif., and Georgia Billette of Newberg; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
