Frank Clair
Birth: 1918
Death: Apr. 3, 2005

Sports Figure. Coach of the Canadian Football League team, the Ottawa Rough Riders in the 1960s, he is best known for leading the once fledgling team on to three Grey Cup victories (1960, 1968, 1969). Then, as general manager of the team in the 1970s, he saw them through to two more wins (1973, 1976). After his departure in 1978, the Ottawa Rough Riders have never even come close to a season victory. Clair was inducted in the CFL Hall of Fame in 1981, and in the 1993, the former Rough Rider stadium was renamed Frank Clair in his honor. (bio by: Patrick R)
