Harvey had one child, a daughter with Louise named Joyce Elaine Sharp.

The marriage to Etta Mae was relayed to me by his sister Mary Ann Sharp Carter, and confirmed by several of my cousins who knew Etta Mae. This marriage is not in the AMI. It was said Etta Mae was a beautiful red-head who worked for many years at Mansour's Department Store in LaGrange, GA. It was also said that Harvey's father, Hershal, did not approve of the couple eloping and made them annul it.

Harvey & Louise met at a singing at the Penton Church of God in Penton, AL. A 'singing' was basically a church concert, with special guest singers.

Harvey's family was from White Plains, just east of Penton, and was a very musical family, traveling around & singing for various churches. The Sharp's were related to half the congregation of PCOG.

Louise's mother was one of the founders of Community Chapel Church of God in Lanett, and both Louise & her mother were very involved in church activities, thus prompting the trip to Penton.

Harvey was a rebelious boy, but stayed within his limits. His father 'whipped' him one time & never had to do it again. Then it was called being 'taken out to the woodshed.'
