After an illness of three days Mr. Teunis Swets passed away at his home Monday, August 31. He was born April 17, 1861 at South Holland, Ill. and was also married there to Miss Nellie Ravenstein on Feb. 21, 1885.
In 1896 the family moved to Sioux County and settled on a farm near Middleburg. The past 18 years they have lived in Orange City.
Six children were born to them Delia (Mrs. Ben Wiersma), Peter, Walter, Cornelius, John deceased, and Effie (Mrs. J. Van Oort) all living in this vicinity.
Besides the widow and five children other survivors are 21 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, one brother John Swets, South Holland, Ill. and 2 sisters: Mrs. John Buachler, Lansing, Ill., and Mrs. Tuna Vander Hoef, Platte, S.D.
Funeral services will be held at the home at 1:30 and in the First Christian Reformed Church at 2 o'clock, Rev. R. Bronkema. in charge. Burial will be in the local cemetery.
