There has been some discussion as to the birth date of Richard since the stone was placed. In a DNA study, the Durrett family was sorted and it was determined Richard's father was John Durrett. This makes his birthdate about 1720. At this time the research is still ongoing and at some point the date will most likely be changed on the stone.
