Gladys Ihlefeld Davenport, Iowa - Mrs. Gladys E. Ihlefeld, 83, of Davenport, died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2001, at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus in Davenport, following a brief illness. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Davenport. Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday at The Runge Mortuary in Davenport. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church Garden Club. Mrs. Ihlefeld was born Feb. 4, 1918, in Davenport, the daughter of Otto and Bertha Buesing Edens. She married Bruno Ihlefeld Oct.12, 1946, in Atkins. She worked at Petersen Harned Von Maur in downtown Davenport. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was active in numerous church activities. She enjoyed crafts, sewing and crossword puzzles. Survivors include, her husband, Bruno; two daughters, Phyllis Carlisle and her husband, Dr. Gene Carlisle, of La Crosse, Wis. and Laraine Summerfield and her husband, Dr. Tom Summerfield, of Nairobi, Kenya; a son, Dr. Gary Ihlefeld and his wife, Jeanne, of Muscatine; grandchildren, Jeff Vorderberg, Allen Ihlefeld, Jon Ihlefeld, Jacob Summerfield, Arianna Summerfield; a great-granddaughter, Aubrey Vorderberg. She was preceded in death by her parents and nine brothers and sisters.
