Bette was born in Winslow, AZ on June 17, 1940 to David and Ada Shaddox. She grew up in Winslow and went to school there thru high school.
On July 3, 1957 she married Don Williams and they had three children, Diana, Brenda and David. They did a lot of traveling with Don's job but made Winslow their home. Bette worked at Paulette's dress shop, the cable company, the Coca Cola plant, motor vehicle department and also sold Avon for many years. She enjoyed these jobs and also made several life long friends there. Bette was a free spirit who loved life to the fullest.
She had a great sense of humor and you couldn't hear her laugh without laughing yourself. She was always smiling and became friends with anyone she would meet. She was a very talented painter, she also enjoyed camping and spending time with her family. She loved Facebook because she was able to connect and stay in touch with her friends and family. She adored her three dogs who she lovingly referred to as her posse.
Later in life she married Mel McKeever, they were married several years until they parted ways in 2000.
Bette's surviving family includes her three children, Diana (Raymond) Martinez, Brenda Williams and David Williams; six grandchildren, Lorey (Dale) Thomas, Odyssa McLean, Matt McLean, Dale Williams, Sierra (Lane) Lariviere, Jessica Williams and three great grandchildren, Moran, Gage and Connor Thomas
Bette is preceded in death by her parents, David and Ada Shaddox, her infant twin sisters Brenda and Linda Shaddox and the father of her children, Don Williams.
A celebration of life will be held Sunday, March 24, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the Winslow Elk's for Bette Williams, 72, who went to be with her Lord on March 10, 2013. Graveside Services will be held on Monday, March 25, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Desert View Cemetery.
