John A Van Gorder, 68, of 3520 E Waterloo Rd, Akron, Ohio, formerly of Butler, died yesterday morning at Akron City Hospital, after a months illness.
Born July 27, 1899 in Butler County, he had lived in Akron for the past 25 years.
Mr VanGorder was proprietor of the VanGorder Furnace Company in Akron.
He was a member of the United Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs Beulah McKinnis VanGorder; a daughter, Mrs Jacqueline Rowles and two grandchildren, Kit and Kathleen Rowles, all of Toledo, Ohio, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Hopkins Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd, Akron, where funeral services will be held at 3pm Sunday. Burial will be in Hillside Memorial Park Cemetery, Akron.
