Born in Windsor, Henry County, Missouri in 1919 to Leslie Charles Janes & Ethel Esther (Thompson)Janes. They moved to Albert Lea, Minnesota in the 1920's.
Ralph was in the Army Air Force during WWII and flew C-47 supply planes. After the war he trained pilots at Marsh Airfield in Southern California. He was a Leutentant Colonel when he finished his military service.
He married Marie Catherine (Kelleher) Janes in 1944 in France. They were the first Americans to be married on French soil after D-Day.
He is survived by 3 daughters, 6 grandchildren & 3 great granddaughters.
