Leonard E. Walters, 62. a Great Bend resident who operated an ice business at Sylvan Beach for 17 years, died yesterday in Veterans Admin Hospital, Syracuse. He was born in Cleveland.
N.Y, son of Edward and Charlotte Hutchinson. He married Nina Dennee in Alton and resided in Sylvan Beach and Watertown before moving to Great Bend 12 years ago. He had been a driver for the Star Cab Co. in Watertown for several years. A veteran of World War I Mr. Walters was a member of the Baptist Church of Phoenix and of the Watertown VFW and American Legion posts. Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter. Mrs. John Sanson, of Camden; two sons, Kenneth, of Great Bend, and Edward, of Syracuse; three sisters, Mrs. Frank Daley and Mrs. Milton Stone, both of Lyons, and Mrs. Mary Koveil, of Great Bend; two brothers, Edward, of Rome, and George, of Great Bend; two half-sisters, Mrs. Margaret Radell, of Norfolk, and Mrs. Dorothy Hine, of Seneca Falls. The funeral will be at 2
Thursday from the Sanborn Funeral Home with the Rev. George Dolch, pastor of First Methodist Church, Camden, officiating. Burial will be in Sand Ridge Cemetery
