Obituary: "Princeton - Miss M.(Annette) Dennis, 84, a resident of the Ridgecrest Retirement Village, Davenport, died in the Ridgecrest health Wing Saturday night, Feb. 12 after an extended illness.
Services were held at 1 pm Tuesday in the McGinnis Chapel, Bettendorf with Dr. Donald Blackstone, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, Davenport, officiating.
Burial was in Oakridge Cemetery, Princeton.
Miss Dennis was born in Princeton on Nov. 1, 1887.
She was a graduate of Deaconess School, Baltimore, Maryland and Wanamaker Language School, Allahabad, India.
She served six years in the Presbyterian Church work in the United States, and 35 years as a Presbyterian missionary in India.
Miss Dennis pioneered in Fundamental Education in northern India and founded the Christian Opportunity Center, Mainpuri, India. She worked with Methodist Holman Institute for five years helping to develop a similar project.
The Governor of the United Provinces of India awarded her a medal for Distinguished Service in World War II.
Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, Davenport, or to the Princeton Presbyterian Church building fund.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Julia Horne, Seal Beach, California, and two brothers, Walter and Paul, both of Princeton"
