Inatius (Nat) Mayer, Rt. 1, Sauk Centre, passed away Wednesday, November 7, at St. Michael's Hospital at the age of 91, following an illness of two years. He was born August 9, 1882 in Roscoe, MN, the son of John and Catherine Mayer. He married Helen Kiffermayer Nov. 8, 1904 at St. Mary's Church, St. Augusta. The Mayers lived on a farm two miles west of Padua. He wa a member of St. Anthony Parish, Padua, for 80 years, a choir leader or 50 years, a Holy Name School Trustee for 40 years, and a township treasurer for 48 years. He was often called upon to play the violin, a hobby which he enjoyed during his life. Survivors include his widow, Helen, and the following children; Mrs. Hilda Killeen, Clearwater; Clarence Mayer, Sauk Centre; Mrs. Richard (Leona) Pfieffer, Sauk Centre; Mrs. Ben (Irene) Essler, Sauk Centre; Mrs. John (Cecelia) Rohan, Portland, Oregon; Mrs. James (Margaret) Littlefield, Portland, Oregon; Mrs. Ed (Marie) Seitz, Freeport; Mrs. Ray (Rose) Spaeth, Anoka; and Francis , Brooten. Funeral services were con-celebrated by the Rev. Fr. Gauthier and the Rev. Fr. Schmelzer on Saturday at 10:30 at St. Anthony of Padua Church. Internment was in Padua Cemetery. Pallbearers were grandsons Kenneth Mayer, Tommy Killeen, Duane Spaeth, Darrel Spaeth, Jerry Hammeral and Donald Mayer. Cross bearer was a great-grandson, Aloyius Seitz.
