James W. Watkins, 83, of Mullins passed away Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Carolinas Hospital System in Marion. He was born in Blount County, Tennessee, the son of the late Charles Marshall and Maude Baker Watkins.

Mr. Watkins retired after 22 years of service to his country as a member of the United States Air Force. He loved and lived for his family.

Mr.Watkins was predeceased by his wife, Peggy A. Watkins. He is survived by one son, James Ronald "Ron" (Ginger)Watkins of Murrells Inlet; two daughters, Lisa Watkins and Penny W. (Danny) Allen all of Mullins; four grandchildren, Russell Watkins, Jennifer Watkins, Ryan Whitesides, and Gage Allen, two great-grandchildren, Rudd Watkins and Gilmore Watkins.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at Christian Faith Baptist Church directed by Meares Funeral Home of Mullins. Burial will follow at Cedardale Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Christian Faith Baptist Church, 2809 E. Highway 76, Marion, S.C. 29571.
