He was born in St. Augustine and had lived in Leslie for 11 years, coming from Columbia, S.C. A 1974 graduate of Palatka South High School, he was a systems analyst with Val-Met at the Oglethorpe Paper Mill. He was a member of Lemon Heights Baptist Church while in Palatka.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa Ann Tyler; his parents, Marlene and Lavern Tyler of Palatka; sons, Mark Christopher "Chris" Tyler, Mathew Stephen "Matt" Tyler and Daniel Merton "Danny" Tyler, all of Leslie, Ga.; sister, Phyllis Bayatzadeh of Miami; and a niece and nephew.
