Cora Barton Crumby, 98 of Magnolia, Arkansas passed away Friday, March 8, 2013 at her home.
She was born December 30, 1914 in Columbia County, Arkansas to Bose Gaines and Estelle Hunt Barton. She was a member of Jackson Street Church and Asbury United Methodist Church in Magnolia. Cora was active in her church for more than 60 years and was known as an excellent cook and gardener. She married George W. Crumby February 15, 1947.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, brothers, Curtis Barton (Glendolia), Oran Barton (Maggie Lee), Archie Barton (Audrey) and Romie Barton; a sister, Newelene Van Frank (Milton), a nephew Jackie Barton and a niece, Rebecca Barton.
Survivors include a daughter, Martha Lynn Gurnea; two grandchildren, Brian Franklin of Magnolia and Molly and husband Chris Jameyfield of Dallas, Texas; three great grandchildren, Kara Franklin and Brandon Franklin of Magnolia and Michael Jameyfield of Dallas, Texas. She is survived by sisters-in-law, Flistean Barton of Lewisville, Arkansas and Ruby Mae Scott of Hot Springs, Arkansas.
Surviving nieces and nephews are Linda Conlin of Stamps, Billy Barton and wife Janell of Magnolia, Margie Chastain of Lewisville, Lionel Barton of Fayetteville, Carolyn Marriott of Magnolia, Evelyn Taylor and husband Joe of Cayuga, Texas, Mike Barton of Greenville, Texas, and a niece-in-law, Peggy Barton of Magnolia. She made lifelong friends in her working years at Berk's and Sara's in Magnolia.
Funeral services will be Sunday, March 10, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Asbury United Methodist Church in Magnolia with Rev. Michael Daniel officiating. Rodney Chamber, a lifelong friend, will offer the eulogy. Burial will follow at Magnolia Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. in Magnolia. Visitation with the family will be Saturday evening from 5:00 to 7:-00 pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
Pallbearers will be Bill Whitehead, Bob Moore, Jerry Walker, Bill Cheatham, Frank Taylor, and John Ed Stewart.
