Milton Junction - Mrs. S. E. Astin, 67, died in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Arthur Frederick, at 12:20 Sunday morning after an illness of ten weeks, in which she was cared for in the home of her daughter.

Lottie M. Rockwell, was born at Cold Spring, Jefferson county, Oct. 9, 1874, and grew to womanhood there attending the public schools and also the State Teachers college at Whitewater. She was married to Shirley E. Astin, Whitewater, on Nov. 27, 1895, at Cold Spring. They lived for a time in Whitewater, and also in Crandon and came to Milton Junction about 30 years ago where they have since lived.

Mrs. Astin was a member of Eureka Camp, Royal Neighbors, and served as receiver of the lodge for many years. She also was employed in the Telephone office for many years, working up to the time of her illness. She was fond of flowers and took great pride in maintaining an attractive home and garden.

She is survived by her husband; four sons, Lawrence, Elmer, George and Lynn Astin, all of Milton Junction; two daughters, Mrs. Arthur Frederick, Milton Junction route 2, and Mrs. Philip Hull, Janesville; 12 grandchildren; four brothers, King and Elwin Rockwell, Whitewater, Clarence Rockwell, Verona and Leslie Rockwell, Atkinson, N. H.; and four sisters, Mrs. Harley Hackett, Mrs. Harry Loomer and Mrs. Alvin Anderson, all of Whitewater, and Miss Lilah Rockwell, Chicago. A son and daughter preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held in the Methodist church at 2 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Anton Hatlestad, Mayville, officiating. Burial will be in the Hillside cemetery at Whitewater.
