Rev. Charles Henry Snedeker was the son of Charles Nelson and Mary Louisa (Lobdell) Snedeker. Jane Florence (Watters) Snedeker was his 1st wife. They were married before 1884 and she died in 1893. Caroline Dale (Cara) (Parke) Snedeker was his 2nd wife. They were married April 29, 1903 and she died January 22, 1956. He was a minister in the New York Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church 1886-1898. In 1898 he became a minister in the Protestant Episcopal Church. He became dean of St. Paul's Cathedral, Cincinnati, Ohio in 1901. In February 1908 he became rector of St. George's in Hempstead, Long Island.

The Rev. Charles H. Snedeker, for three years pastor of Trinity Methodist Episcopal Church here, has resigned from the ministry and membership of the Methodist Episcopal denomination and joined the Protestant Episcopal Church. He goes to St. Bartholomew's parish house, Forty-second Street, New York City, and will be one of the assistants to the Rev. Dr. David H. Greer, rector of St. Bartholomew Church, while preparing to enter the Episcopal ministry. Mr. Snedeker has been pastor of the Methodist Episcopal Churches at Milton, Fishkill Landing, Poughkeepsie, and Newburg, having been a member of the New York Conference since 1886. He is a graduate of Amherst College, Union Theological Seminary, and studied two years in Leipzig, Germany.
