Mildred I. Housh, 97, resident of Poplar St, died Thurs. March 7, 2013 at Meadowview Regional Medical Center. She was the widow of Earl Downing Housh who died in 1966. Mrs. Housh was born in Brown County Ohio on November 17, 1915, the daughter of the late James H. and Rena Catron Stewart. She went to school for 8 years in a one room schoolhouse, worked for Parker Tobacco Co. and the Carnation Can Co. She is thought to be the oldest member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Housh is survived by her daughter Sandra (Kenny) Crump and her son Gary Housh, both of Maysville, two grandchildren Angela (Ron Washington) Crump and Millie (Jimmy) Clay, four great-grandchildren Nathaniel Crump, Robert Clay, Allyssa Clay and Trey Crump. Also surviving is her niece Linda (Tom) Applegate and her nephew Terry (Jodi) Moran.
Funeral services for Mildred Housh will be held at 3:00pm Sunday March 10, 2013 at the Knox & Brothers Funeral Home with Rev. Gordon Jones of the Shepherd's House officiating. Burial will follow in the Maysville Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Nathaniel Crump, Jimmy Clay, Ron Washington, Tom Applegate, Kelly Applegate and Doug Culp. Honorary bearers will be Kenneth Crump and Terry Moran.
Visitation will be Sunday from 1 until 3 pm at the funeral home.
