Funeral for Mrs. Mary Ellen Cadwell, 85, of 2951 NE Edgehill Place, will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Ross Hollywood Chapel, with entombment at Riverview Cemetery Mausoleum.

Mrs. Caldwell died at a Portland hospital Monday. She was born in Blair, Neb., Oct. 22, 1879, and came to Portland 18 years ago. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Merrill J. Reeh, Portland; two sons, Jefferson, Burley, Idaho, and George, Santa Monica, Calif.; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

MRS. WILL CALDWELL DIED AT PORTLAND

Mrs. Will Caldwell, a Blair resident for many years died Monday at Portland, Oregon following major surgery. She was 85 years old.

Mrs. Caldwell was the wife of Will Caldwell who will be remembered by many of the older residents as a chemist at the Haller Proprietary Company which operated in west Blair in the structure now occupied by the Gaydou and Brown business. Mrs. Caldwell had lived in Portland for the past 18 years with her daughter, Orpha, now Mrs. Merrill Reeh, of 2951 N.E. Edgehill Place, Portland.

Mrs. Caldwell was born at Blair October 22, 1879 and lived here throughout her entire life until the death of her husband when she moved to Oregon. She was a member of the Presbyterian church. She was married to William Caldwell who died here in 1944.

She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Merrill Reeh (Orpha) of Portland; a son, Jefferson Caldwell of Burley, Idaho; and a son, George Caldwell, of Santa Monica, California. There are six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held in Portland February 17th and burial was at Portland.

Mrs. Caldwell was a sister to the late Mrs. John McCracken. Mrs. George T. Hedelund was a niece of Mrs. Caldwell. William McCracken of Denver, was a nephew.
