MILTON - Donald Lee Drew, age 77, died at home Sun., Oct 11, 1992. He was born Jan. 13, 1915, in Milwaukee, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harris E. Drew. He had been a resident of Milton since 1921, a graduate of Milton Union High School and Milton College. He was a member of Milton First United Methodist Church for the past 68 years and served on the Board of Trustees and Administrative Council. Don served on the Milton Village Board, was a member of the Milton Civic Club, was secretary of the Milton Red Cross for 17 years and sang in the Milton Choral Union for over 30 years. He served his country for 5 years in the Air Force in World War II. He married Jeannette E. Petters of Janesville on March 21, 1943. Don owned and operated Drew Nursery in Milton for 23 years, becoming well known for his landscaping talents. He worked in the building trade in off-season. He was supervisor of Buildings and Grounds Maintenance at the Wisconsin School for the Visually Handicapped for 28 years until his retirement in 1982.
He is survived by 2 sons, John of London, England, and Stephen "Skip" (Brenda "Wendy") of Milton; and 2 granddaughters, Marta and Janna. He is deeply missed by his family and those who knew him. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Harris and Jenny; and his wife, Jeannette.
Funeral services will be held Sat., Oct. 17, at First United Methodist Church, Milton.
