Willard (Bill) Janes, 81, Adair Co., KY native (d. March 5, 2013)

He was a native of Adair County, KY and a resident of Green County, KY, at the time of his death. He was the patriarch of a great South Central Kentucky family. He leaves 105 direct living descendants.


Mr. Willard "Bill" Janes, age 81 of Greensburg, KY, a native of Adair County, KY, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at the Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville, KY.

The funeral services for Mr. Willard "Bill" Janes will be conducted at 1pmCT/2pmET, Thursday, March 7, 2013, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Tarter's Chapel Cemetery, 4350 Milltown Road, Columbia, Adair County KY.

Visitation is requested 3pm-9pmCT/4pm-10pmET, Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT/8amET, Thursday until time of the funeral service.

He was the son of the late Galeon Croch Janes and Sally Allen Keltner Janes.

Mr. Janes was also preceded in death by his wife: Bessie Mae Moss Janes on April 24, 2012; a granddaughter: Alison Heather Wright on March 12, 1979; a brother: Lewis Janes in 1993; and a sister: Ruth Burris in 2012. He is survived by the following:
His children and their spouses: Allene and Fredy Milby of Greensburg, KY; Pauline and Robert Raney of Louisville, KY; Cymblene and Delson Jones, Jody and Arvil Martin all of Greensburg, KY; Norma Janes Garmon of Lebanon, KY; Roscoe and Judy Janes, Dennis and Debra Janes, all of Greensburg, KY; Mitchell and Pam Janes of Summersville, KY; and Roy Janes, and Harold Janes both of Greensburg, KY.

Five sisters and five brothers: Ernestine Kemp of Adair County, KY; Freida Smith of Louisville, KY; Phyllis Stone, Sue Cundiff, Retter Bailey, Ollen Janes, Johnnie Janes, Payne Janes, Norman Janes, and Herbert Janes all of Adair County, KY.

Twenty-eight grandchildren.

Sixty-five great grandchildren.

One great great grandchild.
