OBIT: DOWLER, William Irvin; 1907; Patton, Cambria Cnty., PA Dr. William Irvin Dowler, one of the best known physicians in northern Cambria County, died Monday night at his home on Beech street, Patton, after a brief illness from stomach trouble. He was taken ill last Friday, but his condition did not become serious until a short time before his death. The deceased was married six years ago to Miss Sue Gallagher of New Washington, Pa., a sister of the Misses S. M. Gallagher, A. R. Gallagher and Mrs. Feltwell of the Ebensburg Elementary School and he is survived by his wife and two children. The earlier home of Dr. Dowler was in Clearfield County where he was born September 18, 1856. He was the son of Capt. James Dowler and Mrs. Cornelia Patton Dowler of Burnside. Capt. Dowler died about four years ago, but Mrs. Dowler still lives, residing at Burnside with her daughter, Miss Elizabeth Dowler. Other members of Dr. Dowler's family are his sisters, Mrs. James Martin of Burnside and Mrs. Ellery O. Hartsborne of Clearfield, and his brothers, J. P. Dowler of Burnside, James Dowler of Damascus, Va., and Harry P. Dowler of Heilwood. Dr. Dowler was a graduate of the Medical Department of the University of Western Pennsylvania; a member of Cambria County medical society and a member of the I. O. O. F. from his boyhood. Dr. Dowler was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church, a zealous and consistent worker. The funeral services were held at his home in Patton on Wednesday evening, conducted by the Rev. Joseph A. Anderson of Patton, and the Rev. E. H. Whitman of Jersey Shore. Services connected with his interment at Burnside were conducted under the auspices of the I. O. O. F.
