Henry grew up on a farm, where he and his four brothers worked with their father. At age 21 he married Esther E Norberg in Galesburg, Illinois on 14 Jan 1903. They had two sons, Ralph and Harold. Henry farmed his land with the help of his two sons until they both left home, Ralph moving to Florida and Harold moving to California. Henry died in Cottage Hospital on Saturday, 21 Aug 1948. He is buried in Linwood Cemetery.
