George E. Haggerty, 68, died Friday after a long illness.
Mr. Haggerty, who moved to Florida several years ago, lived most of his life in Albany. He worked for the state of New York as a director of facilities development.
A disabled Army veteran of World War II, he was twice awarded the Purple Heart.
He was a member of the Albany Elks Lodge. He was a past member of the University Club in Albany and a past president of the Berlin Mountain Fish and Game Club.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis A. Nantista Haggerty; a daughter, Patricia A. DeCamp of Albany; three sons, George E. Haggerty of Riverside, Calif., William P. Haggerty of Newington, Conn., and Richard P. Haggerty of Northampton, Mass.; two brothers, William D. Haggerty of Wappingers Falls, Dutchess County, and Andrew C. Haggerty of Merrimack, N.H.; and four grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 9 a.m. Friday at St. Margaret Mary's Church in Albany. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery in Colonie.
Local arrangements are by the Hans Funeral Home, Albany.
