She was a graduate of Gate City High School and was a lifelong resident of Weber City. Jeanette was an avid golfer. Mrs. Blanton was a member of First Baptist Church of Weber City.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Jack Blanton; parents, Charlie and Stella Johnson Bowling; a brother, Edmond Bowling.
Jeanette Blanton is survived by her daughter, Paula Blanton Howe and husband, Roger (Hickory,NC); a son, Mark Blanton and wife, Karen (Weber City, VA); two grandchildren, Corey Blanton and wife, Cris (Jonesborough, TN), Jamie Blanton and wife, Jenny (Rogersville, TN); great grandchildren, Callie Grace Blanton, Cameron Alexander Blanton, and Paisley Stella Blanton; a step great granddaughter, Abby Coward; her brother, R. L. Bowling and wife, Rose (Greeneville, TN) along with her beloved pet, "Rocky".
Calling hours will be held on Saturday (May 19, 2012) from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Scott County Funeral Home or friends may also call anytime at the residence.
A graveside service will be conducted on Sunday (May 20, 2012) at 1 p.m. at Holston View Cemetery with Rev. Paul Blessing officiating. Tom Haynes, Don Frazier, Tim Wells, Mark Peters, Sam Light, Doug Humphries, Terry Frazier, Jeff Frazier, and Tony Loggans will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Pat Loggans, Jim Baker, Don Arnold, Ernest Jones, C.S. Dockery, Lowell Campbell, John Renfro, and Scott Barger.
