Mr. Eric Bernard Anthony, age 49, of Alcoa, went home to be with the Lord on March 1, 2013. Mr. Anthony was born August 10, 1963. He grew up in Alcoa and attended the public schools of Blount County. He was a graduate of Alcoa High School. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served his country for 26 years. He retired from the Air Force in 2009 as a Master Sergeant. Mr. Anthony was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Anthony, Sr.; grandfather, Arthur Anthony; grandmother, Queenie Anthony Douglas; grandfather, James T. Woods, Sr. On March 3, 2013, his grandmother, Cleopatra Woods, passed away after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Barbara "Judy" Anthony; son, Adrian Anthony; daughter, Erica Anthony of Alcoa; brothers, Lawrence Anthony, Jr. (Rhonda) of Nashville, Tenn., Quentin Anthony (Vanessa) of Alcoa, Arthur Anthony (Denise) of Urbana, Md.; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, other relatives; and a very dear friend, William Homer Henderson. Services for Mr. Anthony will be held on March 6, 2013, at Rest Haven Missionary Baptist Church, 224 East Watts St., Alcoa. The family will receive friends one half-hour prior to the service at the church. The remains may be viewed after noon Tuesday at Foothills Funeral Home, 910 E. Lincoln Road, Maryville, and Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, Knoxville, Tenn.
