Selma S. Tepper, 85, of Atlanta, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 after a nine year battle with Alzheimer's disease. Born and raised in Pittsfield, MA to Samuel and Mollie Hauser Schechter, she moved to New York City after graduating high school to continue her education. In 1948, while working and living in New York, she met Rubin Tepper while he was on vacation visiting family. They were engaged a month later, soon married and Selma joined Rubin in Cordele, Georgia where he was managing his brother's dry goods store. The couple later moved to Pittsfield where they lived for 16 years. In 1965, they relocated to Atlanta and owned and operated a children's clothing and shoe store, Tepper's Fashions, in Doraville until their retirement in 1985. The Teppers were members of Ahavath Achim Synagogue since moving to Atlanta. Predeceased by her husband Rubin.
