BETTENDORF - Funeral services for Fred C. Dismer, Jr., 82, of Bettendorf, will be 11 am Saturday at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary, Davenport. Family will greet friends on Saturday from 9 a.m. to service time at the mortuary. Burial will follow at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be visitation on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. with a Masonic service at 7 p.m. conducted by the Roosevelt Lodge A.F. & A.M. 626. Cunnick-Collins Mortuary, Davenport, assisted family with arrangements.
Fred was born on November 4, 1930, in Davenport, to Fred C. and Julia S. Dismer. He married Estelle B. Longwith on August 14, 1954. She died September 1, 1993. He retired from Oscar Mayer & Company after 22 years of loyal and faithful service. During and before the Korean War he served in the United States Marine Corps.
His memberships and affiliations include 50 year plus membership in the Roosevelt Lodge 626 A.F. & A.M., Scottish Rite of Freemasonry S.J. and KAABA Shrine, and High Twelve Club 47, U.F. & C.W. Local 431, AARP, AAA and the Gung Ho Gang.
Survivors include a daughter, Felicia L. Dismer, Minneapolis; a son, Blake F. Dismer, Bettendorf; and three nieces and four nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Kathryn R. Teats, Erie, Illinois, and Darlene D. Roberts, Lakeside, California.
