Greenfield Sept 23 - Funeral services for Mrs Alice S Goodell, 80, widow of Henry E Goodell, who died at her home on Franklin street, after a long period of ill health, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at her home. The Rev. Verne Henry Smith will officiate and burial will be in Green River cemetery.
born at Northfield the dau of Benjamin A and Lydia Gaines Goodell [sic]; attended Northfield public schools and was graduate of Powers Institute at Bernardston, afterward teaching for two years; was married in 1873 and lived in Millers Falls and Shelburne Falls; when Goodell Brothers Mfg Company moved here, she became a resident; member of Women's Relief Corp and Greenfield Womens' Club; survived by her daughter Mrs Jesse [sic] M Fay and a brother Fred L Gaines both of Greenfield, and Mrs Mina A Howard, a sister, of Ashburnham
