O. G. Wilson Dies Suddenly
Oscar Glendon Wilson, 68 roofing and sheet metal contractor and prominent Alexandria civic leader, died suddenly Thursday at his home on 517 Hillcrest about 8 p.m.
A native of North Carolina, Wilson had lived in Alexandria for more than 40 years. He was a member of the First Methodist church and served as chairman of the board of stewards. He was a 32nd degree Mason and an active member of the Rotary club.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday from the First Methodist church. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home.
The Board of Stewards of the First Methodist Church will be honorary pallbearers.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Lena Shaw Wilson; two sons, O.G. Wilson Jr., and Billy Paul Wilson, both of Alexandria; one daughter, Mrs. H. L. Golson of Cheraw, S. C.; three sisters, Mrs. Laura Turner of Shelby, N. C., Mrs. Walter Beale of Franklin, Va, and Mrs. Z. H. Clark
(former Lela Ida Wilson) of Norfolk, Va; and four grandchildren.
