Johnny Bert Lawson, 80, of Pine Bluff, passed away at his home Monday, February 25, 2013.

He was born in Drew County April 10, 1932 to the late Marvin A. Lawson and Myrtle Mae Deal Lawson.

Bert Graduated from Monticello High School in 1950 and later attended Monticello A&M.

He was a United States Air Force veteran having served during the Korean Conflict.

A member of Watson Chapel Baptist Church, Bert worked for Plumbers Steamfitters & Pipefitters Local No. 155 before retiring in 1994 after nearly three decades of service.

He was an avid golfer who was known to have shot several holes-in-one at Jaycee's Golf Course over the years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Jackie Lawson; and brothers, Monroe and Marvin E. Lawson.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Mildred Branch Lawson, whom he married October 15, 1954 at Pine Bluff; daughter, Tara Renee Edge; sons, Ronald (Karen), Steve (Jayne), and Mark Lawson; sister, Mavis Mitchel; 10 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Stacy Lawson; and many other loving family and friends.

Graveside services will be Friday, 1:00 p.m. at Branch Cemetery (Lee Springs Rd.) with Brother M.L. Faler officiating.

Visitation will be Thursday 6-8 p.m. at Fuller Hale-South Funeral Services.
