Lester Dewey Ives, 52, was found dead in his home a few miles above Smithville Flats, on Thursday. He was one of seven children born to the late Scott Ives and Cora Oliver Ives of Pennsylvania. When six years of age his mother died and he lived with his maternal grandmother, the late Mrs. Lydia Olive of Smithville Flats., remaining with her until her death.

During World War I he enlisted and was sent to France and was in the battle of Argonne Forest. At the close of the war he was honorably discharged.

Mr. Ives is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Bernice Cox of Athens. PA and Mrs. Eleanor Hand of Gardnervil, several nieces and nephews, Charles Oliver.
