Canadian politician. A native of Joliette (Québec), he completed his elementary studies at his parrochial school and his secondary studies at the college of Joliette. He was defeated in 1892. He passed away in his hometown. He was the brother of Charles Basinet, member of the House of Commons, from 1896 to 1904. (bio by: Guy Gagnon)
