When Zeke enlisted in the Marines 22 November 1967, he went to a recruiting office in Louisville.
Upon arriving in Vietnam 14 June 1968, Zeke was assigned to Delta Company, 1st Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division. While at a Listening Post about 4 kilometers west of Ca Lu the Marines had incoming hostile mortar fire and Zeke died as a result of multiple fragmentation wounds to the head and body.
Survived by his parents, Harry B and Florida J Floyd of 1057 Lane Allen Road, Lexington, Kentucky.
