RODERICK MACKENZIE YOUNGER
in the CWGC records, he is named as
ROBERT YOUNGER

In the 1901 census, the Younger family were living at Castleknock, Co. Dublin.
present were,
John Younger, aged 58, a Gardener, born in Scotland.
Jessie, his wife, aged 46, born in Scotland.
Roderick, son, aged 13, a Scholar, born in Scotland.
Alexander, son, aged 11, a Scholar, born in Co. Galway.
James, son, aged 7, a Scholar, born in Co. Galway.
William, son, aged 4, a Scholar, born in Co. Galway.

The house was owned by Henry Seymour Persse, aged 31, a Whiskey Distiller, who lived in Castleknock, but had been born in Co. Galway. It can be assumed that John Younger worked as a gardener for him.


In the 1911 census, the Younger family lived at New Row, Kilmainham.
John Younger, aged 57, a Gardener, born in Scotland.
Jessie, his wife, aged 52, born in Scotland.
They had been married 24 years and had 4 children, all of whom were alive.
James, son, aged 16, a Clerk, born in Galway.
William, son, aged 14, a Clerk, born in Galway.
