DAVENPORT - Funeral Services to celebrate the life of Marjorie Mae Hueser, 87, a resident of Davenport, will be 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 26, 2013, at Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home, 614 Main Street, Davenport. Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Marjorie passed away on Friday, February 22, 2013, at Genesis Medical Center-East Rusholme Street, Davenport.
Marjorie Mae Ingwersen was born on January 5, 1926, in Davenport, daughter of Max and Wilma (Oetzmann) Ingwersen. She was united in marriage to Joseph A. Hueser on October 22, 1954, in Davenport. He preceded her in death July 10, 2012. Marjorie was a graduate of Wesley Memorial Hospital in Chicago with a nursing degree. She went to work at J.I Case as a nurse where she met her husband, Joseph. She had also been employed with the Davenport School System as a secretary at Buchanan Elementary School, retiring in 1989.
Marjorie was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan, having season football tickets with her husband and kids for many years. She especially enjoyed "tailgating" with their many Hawkeye friends.
She also enjoyed reading, sewing, and many other crafts. She spent many summers canning and freezing the fruits and vegetables from their garden. She also enjoyed camping, boating, and wintering in Texas with her beloved husband. She especially loved spending time with her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids.
Marjorie was a registered organ donor and donated her beautiful eyes to the Iowa Lyons Eye Bank for research and education.
She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children and their spouses, Stephen Hueser, (special friend Deborah Hutton), Muscatine, Suzanne (John) Riepe, Davenport, Christine (Joe) Wisong, Davenport, and Jeffrey Hueser, Washington, Ill.; a daughter-in-law, Joscelyn Welshons, Buffalo; five grandchildren, Tara (Ken) Newberry, Moline, Josh (Lynn) Wisong, Davenport, Kyle (Brianna) Riepe, Davenport, Rachel Hueser, Ames, Iowa, and Colin Hueser, Ames; six great-grandchildren; her siblings, John (Rita) Ingwersen and Marty (Dick) Huntington, all of Davenport; as well as numerous loving in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ellen Inghram. May they rest in peace.
