Esther Iverson, 89, passed away Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, at Southern Ocean Medical Center in Manahawkin. Mrs. Iverson was born and lived most of her life in Lakewood before moving to Manahawkin for the last six years. She worked at the Lakehurst Naval base during World War II. For many years, she worked for Brockway Glass and the Rug Mill in Freehold. Esther loved to travel, go to the beach, and crocheting. She was a loving mother, sister, and aunt and will be greatly missed by all.

Mrs. Iverson is predeceased by her husband, Donald Francis; and two brothers, Watson and Russel Burdge. Esther is survived by her son, Donald J. Iverson and Linda Weber; brother, Alvin Burdge and Pam; sister-in-law, Barbara Burdge; two brothers-in-law, Mike Iverson and his wife Joanie and Hezzie Iverson, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, and great-great-nephews.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 12 noon Monday, Feb. 25, 2013 at the D'Elia Funeral Home, Rt. 70 & Vermont Ave., Lakewood. Funeral Service will be held at 12 noon Monday, Feb. 25, 2013 at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Hope Chapel Cemetery, Lakewood. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Esther's memory to the American Cancer Society .
