Pana April 10-John Korkoskie, aged 46 years, prominent in business circles here for the last fifteen to twenty years, died quite suddenly about 10 o'clock Monday night in the apartments above his place of business While he had been complaining of illness the past seven months, his condition was not considered serious and his death was entirely unexpected at this time. Recently he spent three weeks at Hot Springs and contemplated returning there. Monday night he was in his place of business, a soft drink parlor he has conducted
since the city went dry, and about 9 o'clock complained of feeling bad, He went up to his apartment and died before a physician could arrive. A certificate giving the cause of death as heart failure was issued.
Mr. Korkoskie had the reputation of being a man of integrity and good business ability, came to Pana about 30 years ago
and for a time worked in the coal mines. Later he engaged in business and acquired considerable property. For some years he was part owner of the Flint Hotel.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary Korkoskie, a daughter and a son. The former if Miss Mary Vivian, a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy in Springfield and now a student in Chicago. The latter is James Korkoskie, a student for the priesthood. Two sisters, Mrs. Joseph Scholtz of Wisconsin and Mrs, John Mitchell of Nokomis.
The funeral will be held Thursday at the Catholic church with burial in Calvary cemetery.
