RESIDENT OF SAME FARM NEAR DALE FOR 57 YEARS DIES AT AGE 88

In the home where he had resided continuously for 57 years Fred Ramser, 88, longtime Washington County farmer, died Friday afternoon after an illness of five years (He was bedfast two weeks).

The Ramser farm is located eight miles southeast of Arlington, in the Dale vicinity. Mr Ramser, born in Switzerland, came to the United States at the age of seven years and lived in Indiana until he was 31 years old. He then moved to Washington county to the farm which was his home the remainder of his life.

In 1884 he was married to Hattie Murley. They observed their golden wedding anniversary five and a half years ago.

Funeral services for Mr Ramser were held Sunday at 2 pm at the Elk City church the Rev. Harold Baker officiating.

Surviving the aged farmer are his wife, one daughter, Mrs Bertha Glendenning, at home; two sons, George and William both of Lead, South Dakota; one sister and two brothers. There are four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
