Glen Theurer
Glen W. Theurer, 78, 6285 E. 700 S., Portland, Ind., died March 13, 2003, at his residence.
He was born March 12, 1925, in Jay County, Ind., to Herman and Reda Kunkle Theurer. On Dec. 30, 1944, he married Catherine C. Wehrly who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Jerry R., of Richmond, Ind.; a daughter, Judy Blair, Fort Wayne, Ind.; a son-in-law, Bill Blowers, Portland; a brother, Ernest, of Union City, Ind.; a sister, Ruth Evelyn Mote, Union City; nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Linda Sue Blowers, is deceased.
He farmed with his brother and three nephews. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Salamonia, Ind.
Services are 11 a.m. Monday at Baird-Freeman Funeral Home, Portland, the Rev. Tamara Wood officiating. Burial will follow at Salamonia Cemetery.
Calling is noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Contributions can be made to the church, Mercer County Hospice or the Jay County Cancer Society.
