|Death: ||Oct. 6, 1876|
I do not know if Amanda is buried in Greenwood. Thanks to the research of Gary Maize, date of death has been discovered. Since she died so young and her husband Jefferson and son Wade are buried in Greenwood I placed a memorial here, hoping that one day her memorial can be located.
Obit: Palmyra Spectator 26 Oct 1876. Maxwell-Mrs. Amanda J. Maxwell, a daughter of the old and well known pioneer Alexander Anderson, long ago gathered to his fathers, and the wife of Mr. J.W. Maxwell, living near the old historic Fair Ground, was in ordinary health and attending to her household duties on Friday week. After breakfasting with the family, and seeming about as usual she was suddenly seized of a paroxym, the third that she had sustained and being totally paralyzed was rendered speechless, in which condition she expired on Friday, the 28 ultimo, in her 35th year, leaving two children and an affectionate husband to mourn her loss.
Note: I typed the obit as it was written.
