She was the oldest of seven children.
She and her husband, Charles, relocated to Houston shortly after their marriage and as she raised their son Robert Charles, Mrs. Wedlaw completed her degree in Business and began her own Bookkeeping and Tax service.
She was affectionately called "Mama Grace". She had a deep concern for helping and mentoring others. She spent much time giving advise, guidance and counsel to many people, both young and old. She also ministered tirelessly to the sick, shut-ins, church family, family members and friends.
She was a member of Eta Phi Beta Sorority. She was also a member of Metropolitan C.M.E. Church where she served on the Steward Board and numerous other capacities.
She retired from Houston Community College.
Preceded in death by her husband, her son, her foster daughter, her parents and two brothers.
Survivors include two brothers, two sisters, two sisters-in-law, four grandchildren, four foster grandchildren, nine nephews, seven nieces and a host of cousins, church family, and friends.
