Inscription

"How shocking to the human mind
The log did him to powder grind,
God did command his soul away,
His summings[sic] we must all abey[sic].
He was estemed[sic]by all men,
A tender husband, father, friend,
It grieves us that he is no more,
He's left this dark & gloomy shore."
