Franciszek Bajeńska was born in Kowalewo-Pomorskie, Poland Northeast of Toruń. He is the son of Adam Bajeński & Franciszka Jarzębska. Franciszek had 8 siblings all born in Kowalewo-Pomorskie: Józef, Jan (John Bianski of Ege, Indiana), Joanna (Jenny (John) Johnson of Garrett, Indiana), Marianna (Mary (Michael) Krus of Garrett), twins-Piotr & Paweł, Zofia and Leokadia (Leona (John) Kobiela). The family moved to Dobrzyń near Golub along the Drweca River only about 20 minutes SE of Kowalewo. They remained there until about 1886.
The town of Dobrzyń was part of the Russian partition at the time and there were many uprisings. The Bajeński family planned to emigrate to the USA. John and his sister, Joanna went first to the US in about 1883 and they met up with an Uncle. Eventually, John and Joanna ended up in Ege, Indiana. The rest of the family followed a year or two later. At that time, Francizcek changed his name to Frank Byanski.
In 1900, Frank married Anna Warszenska, daughter of Frank Warszenski and Julianna Ramian. They lived in Garrett, Indiana in the 1900 census. Later they moved to Chicago, Illinois where they spent the rest of their lives. Frank and Anna had 6 children, Marian, Helen, Agnes, Barbara, Joseph and Gerald. Both Frank and Anna died within 5 months of one another with Frank in July and Anna on Christmas Day 1947.
