RHODA E. BROWN

Rhoda E. Brown, 91, Route 1, Milo, died Wednesday at Nevada City Hospital, following an illness of several months.

Born Aug. 25, 1887, in Thayer County, Neb., she was the daughter of Samuel Vorce and Jennie Elizabeth Nebergall Wheeler. She was married Oct. 18, 1905, at Hebron, Neb., to Arthur John Brown. They moved to Missouri in 1914 to a farm near Rockville. In 1930 they moved to a farm near Milo. After retiring in 1959 they moved to the home in Milo. Mr. Brown died on their 65th wedding anniversary, Oct. 18, 1970.

Survivors include three sons, Crawford A. Brown, Mesa, Ariz., Max H. Brown, Falls Church, Va., and Newton Brown, Joplin; three daughters, Iona Wabaunsee, Reno, Nev., Mrs. Allen (Mary) Laflen, Moundville, and Mrs. Leonard (Nancy) Curry, Milo; two sisters, Mrs. Elmer Messman, Geneva, Neb., and Zona Frank, Salem, Ore.; a brother, Lee Wheeler, Salem; 25 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Ferry Funeral Home with the Rev. Curtis Ground officiating. Interment will be in Milo Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

BROWN SERVICES

Services for Rhoda Ellen Brown, 91, were held Saturday at Ferry Funeral Home with the Rev. Curtis Ground officiating.

Mrs. B. R. Kapple, organist, accompanied Mr. and Mrs. M. O. Couch as they sang "In the Garden" and "Where We'll Never Grow Old."

Pallbearers were Jerry Laflen, John Wabausee, David Curry, Don Curry, Neal Brown and Howard Sellens. Honorary bearers were Nickolas Pitts, Robert Hughes and Dan Post.

Interment was in Milo Cemetery.
