Hershel C. Musick, 59, died Monday at his home following a long illness.
A native of Gate City, Va., he had lived in Florida since 1965. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked and retired as a carpenter. He was a member of Carpenter's Local Union No. 1278 in Gainesville. He attended Church of God in San Mateo.
He is survived by his wixe, Maxie Musick of Satsuma; two sons, Eddie Musick and Danny Musick, both of Satsuma; daughter, Judy Smith of Satsuma; mother, Annie Musick of Gate City, Va.; three brothers, Edisol Musick and Willie Mack Musick, both of Gate City, Va.; Johnny Musick of Fort Blackmore, Va.; six sisters, Edith Sallings, Carolyn Maddox, Betty Flanery and Nina Brickey, all of Gate City, Va., Wanda Spears of Rogersville, Tenn., Mildred Musick of Kingsport, Tenn.; and two grandchildren.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Church of God in San Mateo with the Rev. Richard Sapp officiating. Burial will be in Palatka Memorial Gardens.
