Osceola Bivens Cooper, 87, passed away in Gainesville, Fla., on February 11, 2013. She was a long-time member of Forest Hill Baptist Church. Mrs. Cooper was preceded in death by her infant brothers, Calvin and Alvin Bivens; her parents, Cal and Maude Bivens; her husband, John Joseph Cooper; their daughter, Shirley Cooper Headrick; her brother, Ralph Cecil Bivens; and sons-in-law, John F. Clark and Paul Headrick. She leaves behind her beloved daughter, Yvonne Cooper Clark; and grandson, Joel (Jacki Shehan) Clark of Branford, Fla.; grandson, Kent (Jayme Benz) Clark of Kingwood, Texas; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Clark of San Diego, Calif., and Peyton Clark and Devan Byther of Kingwood, Texas; her sister, Bernice (Rev. John) Smith of Niota; and many other cherished family and friends. Family will receive friends from 6 until 7 p.m. Saturday, February 23, at Smith Trinity Chapel, with a service to follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. George Macht officiating. Interment will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 24, 2013, at Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Forest Hill Baptist Church, 1850 Forest Hill Rd., Maryville, TN 37803 (or the charity of your choice).
