Ray L. Freeman, 73, died Saturday morning, Nov. 17, 1990 at his home in Guymon. The son of Carl and Bessie Freeman, he was born March 15, 1917 at Texhoma, Okla. Ray and Joy Foster were married March 15, 1950 at Los Mr. Freeman worked for Helm's Bakery in Los Angeles for 26 years and moved to Guymon in August 1966. He farmed for his brothers George and Jerry Freeman until his retirement in May 1989. He attended the Texhoma schools and graduated from Guymon High School with the class of 1935. He graduated from Panhandle State University in 1939. Mr. Freeman was an Army Air Corp pilot during World War II. he graduated from the Columbus Army Flying School in Columbus, Mo. in December 1944。
He was an active member of the Guymon First Baptist Church. He served as deacon and Sunday school teacher for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Bill Freeman; a twin sister, Faye Richmond; and a grandson, John Freeman. Survivors include his wife Joy of the home; four sons and three daughter-in-laws, Gary Freeman and wife Pam of Littleton, Colo., Jim Freeman of Anaheim, Calif., Glenn Freeman and wife Stephanie of Oklahoma City and Arthur Freeman and wife Denise of Oklahoma City; Seven grandchildren, Amy Freeman of Seminole, Okla., Jimmy Freeman of Guymon, Farrah Freeman of Littleton, Eric Freeman of Anaheim, Ashley, Nathan and Stevie Freeman, all of Oklahoma City; two brothers and sister - in - laws, George Freeman and his wife Mary of Texhoma, Jerry Freeman and his wife Reba of Texhoma and Mrs. Bill (Gwen) Freeman of Texhoma. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday Nov. 20 at 10 a.m. from the Guymon First Baptist Church with Dr. Denny Autrey, pastor, Rev. George L. Foster of El Dorado Springs, Mo., Dr. Clyde Cain of Edmond, Okla., and Rev. Don Chaffin of Moore, Okla. officiating. Interment will be in the Texhoma cemetery under the direction of the Bunch - Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon. Friends may call at the funeral home any time Monday. The Freeman family requests memorials be given to the First Baptist Church building fund.
