Birth: Sep. 2, 1845
Monroe County
Michigan, USA
Death: Jul. 28, 1901
Fulton County
Ohio, USA

Charles A. Gee is my 2nd Great Grandfather.

He married three times:

M.1 - Sophronia Culp on 20 Oct 1868. To this union, three children were born, Maude E. Gee, William Henry Gee (my Great-Grandfather), and Charles Edward Gee. My Great-Great-Grandmother abandoned her family for reasons unknown and Charles eventually obtained a divorce from her.

M.2 - Mary Elliott, b. 1858 in Ireland; d. 16 Aug 1887 in Seward, Fulton Co., Ohio. They married 26 Oct 1884. It is thought they had a child together, and that both mother and child died during childbirth or shortly thereafter. Burial location of both mother and child is currently unknown. UPDATE, Aug. 2012 - Charles and Mary had two children, Elsie A. Gee (b. 21 Sep 1885 in Royalton, Fulton Co., OH) and Lucy L. Gee (b. 29 Apr 1887 in Royalton, Fulton Co., OH).

M.3 - Juliette Adelade Steward Newcomer on 02 May 1888 in Fulton Co., OH.

Charles A. Gee was born at Dundee Michigan September 2, 1845 and died at Lyons, Ohio July 28, 1901, aged 56 years, 10 months and 26 days.

July 26, 1862, at the age of 17, Mr. Gee enlisted in the 18th Michigan volunteer infantry company H. and was discharged June 26, 1865. He was a member of Baxter Post, number 238, G. A. R., of Lyons, who had charge of the funeral service.

Besides his wife, he leaves three children to mourn their loss.

The funeral occurred at the Disciple church Monday, July 29, Reverend Hoag officiating. Interment in the Lyons Cemetery.
